Publication Ethics
Journal of Pharmacology and Doping Review upholds the highest ethical standards in academic publishing. This ethics statement is based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and applies to all parties involved in the publishing process, including authors, reviewers, and editors.
1. Duties of Authors
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must submit original work and properly cite any referenced sources. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.
- Authorship Criteria: All listed authors must have made significant contributions to the research and manuscript preparation.
- Data Accuracy and Integrity: Authors must ensure the accuracy of data and be prepared to provide supporting data if requested. Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting of data is strictly prohibited.
- Multiple Submissions: Authors must not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously.
- Conflict of Interest: Any financial or personal relationships that may influence the research must be disclosed.
- Ethical Compliance: Research involving human or animal subjects must comply with ethical standards and include approval from an appropriate ethics committee.
2. Duties of Reviewers
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must keep all manuscript details confidential and not use them for personal advantage.
- Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted fairly, objectively, and without bias. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.
- Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest that could affect their evaluation of the manuscript.
- Timeliness: Reviewers should provide their feedback within the stipulated review period.
3. Duties of Editors
- Fairness and Impartiality: Editors must evaluate manuscripts based on academic merit, without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or affiliation.
- Confidentiality: Manuscripts and review reports must be kept confidential and not shared outside the editorial team.
- Decision Making: Editors have the final decision on manuscript acceptance and must ensure that decisions are based on objective peer review.
- Addressing Ethical Issues: Editors must act on ethical concerns, including suspected plagiarism or research misconduct, and take appropriate action if needed.
4. Handling Misconduct
- If misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical research practices) is suspected, the journal will investigate and take necessary actions, which may include retraction, correction, or banning authors from future submissions.
